Hi all,

I have started looking into the minefield known as PLC's i have had some experiance with them however before i go much deeper has anyone come across a cheap setup with software that i can test and play with on the bench before i go getting to involved with them did not want to out source if i did not have to.

Thanks in advance

Siemens logo is a good place to start. ÂŁ200 or under for a starter kit.
Simple to program.
It has its limitations but is good for simple controls that don’t include positioning etc.

What is the application?

There are many recognised names out there with free software which allows you to test your programs long before hardware is plugged on... Siemens as mentioned is one of them, it is recommended to get familiar with the software before dipping in your pocket, choose function block and mot ladder as it is more modern, simpler and has extra options.
