Hi All

I am doing a block of flats and a few of the metal balconies have got voltage running through but when you turn the door entry system off in the lanlords it goes, not sure what voltage is running through the balconies as didn't have tester there.

Any suggestions greatly appreciated
Cheers

Wayne

Most of a door entry system is usually selv and unless your refering to a fault from the mains supply to door entry control panel then it sounds a tad strange as the 230v side isnt usually anywhere near say a balcony but nothing supprises me anymore, what without sounding like a dumb question makes you suspect voltage??? can you feel it or hear it or is something arcing cracklin???

What do you mean by voltage, do you mean enough to feel?
I guess the landlords dist board is ancient ?
Could these balconies be fixed to structural steel work ? That could be causing the fault with the door system....damaged cable passing through steel perhaps.
You need to test that circuit and consider structural steels bonding too.
I would love this one..........good luck
