Ive had to call the AA who have put me in touch with their ' contaminated fuel ' unit £ 200.00

Petrol in Deisel, I drove about 2 miles ans guess what ( If not too macho to admit it ) this is the second time i've done it , though to be fair the first time was after a ghoster and I was knackered , Just finished a night club after 24 hrs non stop - did.nt even go to the opening night even though I had an open bar tab needless to say the lads did

Did you notice it was a bit tappity? A bit smokey? Hahahaha

How much diesel was in the tank when you filled it? You might get away with completely draining it, filling it with diesel (proper diesel not supermarket stuff) and running it very slowly. This sometimes works on old cars but if its a new van and..... two miles. Maybe, maybe not.

EDIT: new filter of course. TBH your local garage will probably sort you out for less than 200.

I can remember when I was still training, the spark I worked with filled the van with petrol, the gaffer went absolutely bonkers threatened to sack him and all sorts.

Anyway 4 days later the gaffer did it himself.......needless to say he never lived it down!!!!!

Luckily I've never done it although I've had a panic moment where I thought I had until I looked at the receipt.

My uncle on the other hand brought a brand new volvo 4 x 4 style thing £40k drove it out of the showroom, round the corner to the petrol station and filled it up with £100 of the wrong fuel!!!! DOH
