(i haven't verified this but have it on strong grounds)

Happened today, lads been sent home in taxis, staff all told there out of a job and the place is crawling with suits - it doesn't matter who you are - there's something to be said for keeping it small and under control.

Sad day for the staff.

Mixed emotions - (if its true) as a business owner its sad see someone loose a business, then on the other hand i cant help feeling it may have been milked and therefore no sympathy.

I can imagine that their monthly wage and rent bill must be well over £100k, so they'll have been burning through any investment and savings pretty fast.

I'd imagine there'll be a fair few more this month, as the monthly wage bill looms, if the install rate doesn't seriously pick up.

I feel sorry for the staff. As Gavin says, I reckon there will be a fair few more up to Christmas. October 31st could be the day when many firms call it a day.

tbh I'd have hoped that debbie meaden would have subbed them through to the spring, but that's obviously not her style.

Actually that's a bit worrying if someone as hard headed as her doesn't think it's worth keeping funding the business through to next year.

No i cant find anything on it either - but i emailed a supplier who work next door to ploughcroft and i got a read reciept but no answer so i will take that as a yes. Plus the message came from a blokes (who i do business with) wife who worked there, so its fairly strong odds on.

She's likely after a consistent 20% return, any less not worth the hassle...

can't play an industry reliant on subsidies the same way as a free market. Intervention messes everything up...

Also they don't give a hoot about the employees. Assets probably stripped to the shareholders and everyone else can starve...
