Hi all. I've popped over from the plumbing forums to ask this. Basically, my work involves quite a lot of electrical work, all of which is presently subcontracted out. I am considering learning to do this work myself, albeit building up slowly - cherry picking the easier jobs first. I don't just want to do the Part P course - I would prefer to do something more in depth to be honest.

I've seen this course and would appreciate some opinions on the content from qualified electricians : - New to the Industry – Steve Willis Training Centres . Once I complete this and join a certifying body can I then start to do my own work legally? I'm certainly not looking to get into whole house rewiring, just to do all the electrical work in bathrooms/central heating systems etc myself.

I have some prior experience of wiring central heating systems before Part P came in. I also have an engineering degree and would hope to pick up much of the theory pretty quickly.

All advice appreciated.

Not sure what you will learn on the starter units but the others are all exams that are listed are taken after an apprenticeship has been completed. Electrician find the 2391 hard it only has a pass rate of around 45%

Two and half K and 4-5 weeks solid plus all your test instruments, books etc, etc a lot of money for the odd circuit

ÂŁ500 deposit pays for a weeks training plus your course fee. Steve Willis will always make your deposit if and when you fail
