Picking up a new van (well, new to me), this weekend, and want to ply line it. Im building my own kit based on photos I can find on the internet. Just wondering how do you fix the plywood? Do you screw it straight into the metal work of the vehicle (side panels). Are there any hints or tips before I start?

As above, but when you're drilling through the floor make sure you check underneath first. Fuel tank/lines, as well as wiring can all be routed close enough to the load floor to get caught by the drill.

Thanks guys for the info. I managed to get some free plywood from a recent job, so thought I'd give it a go for myself. I thought you did have to screw into the second skin, but just wanted to check.

If you choose to put ply on the floor, cut the floor well enough that it does not need screwing to stay in position, screwing through the floor such that the screw is exposed through to the elements underneath will increase the chances of rust, you would have to paint the screws and unseal/waxoyl the underside.

Go for stainless screws ..or galved coachbolts..........
