Hi,

Can anyone point me in the direction of any independent data / research outlining the relevant merits of the 2 technologies? I am particularly interested in the real world advantages of one over the other. Some installers are claiming that mono panels are the only sensible choice for an install in Scotland due to conditions and I am trying to confirm / deny this.

Thanks.

Long discussions with manufacturers earlier this year at Intersolar, and even they couldn't give me a strong argument either way, according to them they both cost the same to produce and the UK markert was odd in that it had a preference for mono's. Poly's used to be cheaper, though the price of mono's has come down to a comparable price as the dmenad from the UK has increased.

I have heard a few views, but one i would be interested in finding out more is :
'poly will perform better than mono in the UK as mono are more susceptible to temperature variations so in effect poly are approx 1% better performing!'

any thoughts?
