I have to renew a faulty cable in a large pond at retirement complex. The cable in question comes from an output from a blagdon controller and passes some 15 metres along the bottom of the pond to feed another controller on the other side of the pond which in turn feeds 3 other items of pond equipment.firstly is it acceptable to run a feed through a pond and secondly if so what type of flex should I use to replace it.It currently has a 1.0 mm flex but I am unsure if there are special flexes for weather conditions and submersion .There are a number of similar flexes going into the pond from different outputs on both controllers,

You just need a waterproof rubber flex (fairly common) - making the connections might be a little more awkward. I wouldn't try to take apart equipment that is operating under water - you can get connectors for cable that are designed to withstand submersion if that is the only alternative, but personally i would prefer to be making by connections above water in suitable IP rated enclosures.

I have joined cables for submersible pumps using small(ish) plastic boxes and filling with ScotchCast.
One for a deep well pump was under 50’ of water. It was in use for over 15 years and was only taken out when the pump impeller packed up.
