Hey guys wondered if you could help I was called out to one of our domestic properties to check everything was switched of whilst not in use as they received there electric bill and it had gone through 3000 units in one month so I was wondering if there is some form of an energy logging device that measures volts and amps and then store it for later review that way i could see if there is anything coming to life in the evening when ive gone home,
I did used to fit a form of this years ago in banks where we had a small unit that was wired into the 3 phase mains then had CT,s on the main incomer and that monitored all the bits then using another box transmitted them to our office but its been a few years now and I wondered if fluke or megger etc have come out with a logging device.

Hi Shifty,

We've started taking quite a few enquiries similar to yours and as such we've decided to list the Eco-Eye range of products on our website.

The Eco-Eye Elite should do the trick for a single phase domestic property. It will also store data for you to review at a later date in various formats, although current usage is displayed in kWh.

Thanks

What exactly is the storage capacity / time as this appears confusing "Stores historical data for 32 hours/days/weeks/ months"

It appears these unit have no voltage monitoring function and therefore cannot accurately monitor energy usage and in reality are only logging current draw against a pre set programmed voltage unless someone knows different

Thanks for the suggestions guys maybe I should give a bit more info on needs to give you a better idea what im after.
Ok so I cover around a 100 properties in london and surrey majority are 3 phase due to all having AC through out the house im after a bit of kit that can monitor both single and 3 phase if needed on a temp basis I would like to be able to see the current draw on a chart so that lets say 2300 hrs somthing comes on I can see a rise and a drop when it goes of also in the surrey properties the incoming power can be a little problematic ive had 80v before also lots of power cuts 2-3 a month .
the device im after isnt so much an eco thing as a investigation tool I dont need to know how much im spending a month as we have an accounts department for that lol also the client will have no involvement in this so its purly for me .
Im not sure if that makes sense but I just need somthing that will monitor all incoming whilst im in bed then I can review minute by minute how its operated through the night.

I have a fluke 1735 - should do everything you need.

It's available for hire if you're interested - I'm based just outside london.

Would have to agree, it's damn annoying when you get current and no voltage..

However trying to help;

Eco-Eye ELITE100 3 Phase Energy Monitor (100A)

Same as posted by Test-meter not much use when the OP wants to monitor voltage as well as current

Not used one but been looking round the web for a while on subject and this seems a reasonable unit for the price

BEHA-AMPROBE - International

Trouble with power analysers is balancing cost and spec against how much use it will get and what you want to achieve
