In just over a week I'm off to Fuseta in the Algarve. Nearest towns seem to be Olhao and Tavira. Anyone been there, and if so is there much in the area of interest. I will have the car. Cheers in advance for any answers.

Travel north and check out the rest of the country, for verily, it is truly fabulous.

out in the sticks theres vast unspoilt areas with very few people, the beer out in the sticks is stupendously cheap, and the people friendly and respectful.

driving skill is an eye opener though, Portugal is the only place I have watched in disbelief, as in the distance a car accelerated to over take a car, that was, overtaking a coach, up a hill, around a blind bend, with a sheer drop on the one side and a solid wall rockface on 'tuther....

in fact I just pulled over to watch.

Tavira is very nice, drive 20k approx to the Spanish boarder, nice castle in between on route, can't remember name of it.

Cool. Picked it almost blind. But 575 euros per month including gas and electric swung it.

I've been reading on the net that they' ve made the motorways tolls, and the other main roads are now carnage. Hopefully away from the coast it won't be too bad if we go up like you've suggested.

What’s the thread about? Is he moving permanently?

If he isn’t please don’t disappoint me by saying he’s not.

It's obvious from my op what this is all about Tony. Can't you read. You must be one bored old man to comment on a 6 day old thread you have no interest in.
