A Potterton Prima F80 Boiler on the top of its metal covering [Tin I suspect] due to fine occasional dribble [leak] from the junction between the Pump connected to the Return pipe shows corrosion.
The corrosion is bad enough that if one exert pressure a hole will occur.
The heating system it does is Heat Only Open Vented [The house has Over flow and feeding water chambers in the loft.
Just to give you some idea on the set up;This Potterton within its metal enclosure at the bottom has a COMBUSTION CHAMBER. Just above this is situated HEAT EXCHANGER and on top of this is the FAN and then FLUE ELBOW and finally this top mental covering with the corrosion.
The Following is the manual; I am unable to put in the URL as I am new and this is first posting by mysely. If you google for Potterton Prima F80 one could find the manual.
Can one find a outer covering to replace the one with corrosion? Could this becarried out by a Gas Safe Installer?
