with the new 17thregs requiring us to to fit rcd & rcbos etc, in the event of a power cut say while i was on holiday for example.because you have to reset the switch, when the supply is returned, there would be no power to say to my freezer or more importantly the sky+ box with 2 x weeks of home & away the misus would go ballistic,i know you you could put the freezer on a integral cct,or does no one think this is a problem ,it would be if you lived in rural areas with a TT system with the main isolator being a rcd,or areas with lots of power outages.

They would only trip off in the event of a fault on the circuit for the house, they wouldnt trip off if there is a power cut. So when power is restored from the supplier it would all go back on.

Anyone know any different? I have been to lots of houses with power cuts and nothing has tripped off!

If you are going on holiday unplug everything you dont need to lessen the earth leakage =0)
