Hello. I'm new and I'm not an Electrician.

I have just about got my head around why these little plug in power factor correction devices don't work. I was wondering whether a device could be made that does the opposite? i.e. gives you a poorer power factor and thus lower bills. Or have I got a bit lost in the sine waves?

Your domestic power usage is measured in KWHrs. Industrial usage is measured in KVAHrs. Only in industrial installations will power factor correction be of use.

Keep your money in your pocket.

And NO making your power factor worse will waste power in whatever device you try to use, therefore costing you money.

There’s only one way to really save energy in the home

Hi,
They don't work for domestic bills. I have complained to trading standards and got one pulled from Argos & Maplin. If you still see them on sale let me know where and I will make a further complaint.
