Hi Guys

I have been requested to put a power socket in a greenhouse. I know the boxes etc to use but my question is this. Should the frame work of the greenhouse itself be bonded?

Be gentle, I'm new and would rather ask the experience of my piers than muck up!

Cheers

Jon

I would say if the circuit is on an RCD (which it should be) then there would be no need, but I'm open to correction.

The circuit will be on a 30mA RCD.

On the basis of who knows what will be used in the green house, it would not hurt to do so, just make sure the supply is in SWA and a suitably rated IP socket also.

At the moment, a greenhouse heater and possibly a propogator. Less than 3000kW combined. Cable is SWA and socket is IP56. Although we all know once we walk away other things will get plugged in!!
