Yes, light turns off when the mains switch is off. I get 5v AC across L&N. Does this mean there is a fault in the system?check the light goes off when you turn main switch off.
assuming it does, then check voltage across L + N at light fitting and report back
If these LEDs get any more sensitive / efficient they will be lighting with the RF from a nearby TAXI / Transmitter / Phone ...I get 5v AC across L&N.
don't tell a farmer that. he'll be pluging in his milking machine. If these LEDs get any more sensitive / efficient they will be lighting with the RF from a nearby TAXI / Transmitter / Phone ...
(a bit like the after glow of fluorescents ) ... If its a safe voltage , and earthed .. is it really of concern .. If not due to dampness ?
.. If its a farmer tell him ..It's Free Electricity ..!
(and will not wear it out appreciably faster at such a low intensity)
Yes!Thanks for your help. Do I get the snubber fitted across L&N at the lamp?
Ohhhhh.....that's expensive. I suppose it is CEF! Try Farnells or CPS.You’d need to fit a snubber to fix.
Ah Maplin. I remember when they were a component shop and not a toy shop. Their catalogue was full of component datasheets. I must be getting old. They are back online but nothing like they used to be.
I bought one of these from TLC "Danlers Low Load Capacitors for Low Energy Lamps Load capacitors can be supplied to augment small loads (low energy lamps)"fitted it across L&N and the problem has not gone away? Any further ideas please? Much appreciated.Yes!
