Fitting my first Aurora PVI 3.6 OUT (UK 16A) and getting all paperwork ready in preparation for DNO etc.

16 x 240W panels. 2 strings of 8

On the DNO form it's got

SSEG rating (Amps, Volts and power factor or kW - under normal running conditions)[SUP] 1[/SUP]

Is this I =16A, V = (180 - 264), PF = >0.995

Sounds silly but I want to make absolutely sure I'm not going to get this wrong!

Also, any tips for fitting this please

Thank you

PS I know I'm extremely lucky to get this delivered today!

OP says 16amp as they brought out a new version this summer clamped at 16amp for G83 purposes.
There are a few out there with pre clamping outputs so I hear and performing really well!

The latest draft of dti implies frame doesn't require earth bonding?

Still like to know if this is right...

KW -16 x 240 = 3840 x 0.968 = 3717 = 3.717kw

16(number of panels)multiplied by 240(wattage of panel)=3840(total wattage)multiplied by 96.8%(efficiency of a PVI 3.6 OUTD inverter)

Maximum peak short circuit current? 16 amps?

Err no.

PSSC is a test result that is dependent on your Zs.

Dont want to tell you anymore as you are scaring me

Array frame needs earthing with that inverter.

Great bit of kit

Your figures and understanding are a little bit lacking?

However we all learned sometime, I usually PM my stupid questions!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

1. Make sure your strings and polarities are correct
2. Remember to sellect the correct toggle switch setting internally for parrallell strings

Have included picture of my LAST install so you can all pick it to bits, never doing it again!

All staff layed off, all advertising binned.............

cbw that's really good to know that I've made a good choice. It's for an East/West so thought was best suited.

Grateful if you could answer my original question? Cheers

I'm sorry you clearly haven't read this thread or What's on the DNO form?

LOL yes i have me old mate. And i can read just fine.

SSEG rating (Amps, Volts and power factor or kW - under normal running conditions)

I provided you with the OR answer for the SSEG (small scale embedded generator) or inverter to you, and also answered your PSSC query.

16A is not the answer for normal running conditons as its dependant on many factors that cannot be accounted for. I could tell you how to calculate this but you have been rather rude and i await an apology before divulging anymore information

Wont bother next time..... tut.... some people........... lol

Sorry fiardor I didn't mean to be rude, that's not what was intended. So my apologies.

I thought that rather than providing the calculation as you have shown for kW, I would provide the alternative set of figures for the SSEG i.e Amps, Volts and power factor. What I was unsure of is what to put for volts because on the data sheet is gives the range (180 - 264) but then there is a note saying country specific.

As far as Maximum peak short circuit current goes I think I've just completely misread what the form was after, I'm just completely frazzled at the moment. I filled in loads of these forms so god knows what I was thinking when I posted the question.

My understanding is that the answer to the question on the SSEG form about maximum SC current is 'N/A', because the inverter is transformer-less. (I have already had SSEG Connection Confirmations accepted on this basis - Aurora 3.6-OUTD-UK is the only one I have fitted (x3).) Earthing (bonding) of the frame and/or panels is only necessary if there is already (or there is planned) another installation within touching distance which is earthed/bonded (e.g., Solar Thermal). Sorry to be late reading and responding - too busy! Regards Calumiain
