Dear all,

Just replaced a power shower for a customer, the old one is not working, when you turned on the shower you heard some noise but no water is coming out, i checked voltage, it is 240 volts, checked the water connectionn, both hot and cold water are connected well, so i suggested he change a new shower, we bought a triton power shower this morning, installed it, but still the same problem, even turn it of 'off', you can still hear some noise, but just no water coming out, dame, spent 4 hours there but still cannnot find the reason, anyone had this problem before?

Without the shower connected does the water flow?

Sounds like there is an airlock in the pipes feeding the shower or the header tank is empty!

hi UNG, when i dis-connect the power shower both hot and cold water flow smoothly, the head tank and main tank are both full of water,

1. if there is an airlock, how to remove it?
2. i checked the electrical connection by simply measuring the voltage using voltage meter, is this enough?

cheers

can you here the pump running , double check the power supply , if you have changed the shower there must be a supply fault if you cant here the pump

thanks guys, will double check the power supply, the funny thing is when i set it to 'off' position, i still heard some noise, could be something wrong with the supply

possible check the supply ,it should be via a Dp fused spur some where when its off it makes noise check the supply across the power shower when its off , it should be on a DP fused spur as ive said so it should be dead ,

What head of water have you got above the shower head if there is insufficient head or a negative head of water you may need a power shower with a negative head pressure switch fitted to the pump for it to function properly

also check in the instructions (i know, none of us need them..!:D) but see if it states the minimum water pressure required for the shower. the standard type 7 - 9.5kw shower requires cold water pressure of i think 1.5 bar (maybe someone will correct me on the figure) but it basically means mains water pressure straight from the mains inlet pipe and not from a header tank. if the pressure is not there the pressure valve won't open to allow the shower to work.
hope you sort it.

Power showers are tank fed which is why the water pressure is usually stated as "head of water" i.e. the height of the feed tank above the outlet and not in actual bar / psi pressure
