Hi all (first post here, so apols if I'm not behaving appropriately).
I want to run power to my shed, which is ~30m from my house. I have an old fuse box, and intend to use that with an earth spike for local protection, and run power down from the house via buried steel armoured cable (but initially on a thick extension cable to a trailing 13amp plug socket).
Legally, of course, I could just use the extension lead and screw a four gang to the shed wall, but I think 30m is a long way to rely on the house earth and circuit breaking.
Firstly can anyone confirm to me that that is safe? Secondly, once the SAC is in and buried, should this sort of thing be signed off? Bearing in mind that it will already have gone through the house fuse box, and that the one in the shed plus the earth spike is just to make extra safe.
Thanks in advance.
Justin.
