Hi everyone,
I'm a 32 year old female who has returned to college to undertake training to be an electrician. I am 5 months into my level 2 diploma. I have not been able to get an apprenticeship as they are few and far between and once you are 23 the government doesn't offer any assistance.
I'm loving the course, but I really do need some practical experience. Has anyone experienced this before and do you have any good tips? I work for 2 to 3 days per week as a dispenser at Boots and I'm at college for 3 days. I'd be happy to do unpaid work to gain the experience, but I only have alternate Saturdays and Sundays off.
I have written to a few local companies, but no luck as yet. Ideas would be gratefully receive.
Thanks
Sarah
