Hi all, I really need to get some hands on experience with Solar PV, I have my Part-P , 17th edition and 2392 inspection and testing, but no experience with PV. Happy to trade your time in helping me for any promotional images you require of installations, as i have also been a professional commercial photographer for 15 years, i'm based in the West Midlands but happy to travel.

Surprised no offers, as thought there would be lots of companies wanting to have professional photos taken to promote their business ?

@ Gazap, most members of this forum tend to be small businesses or sole traders, would you really expect them to pass their hard learned experience and train up a competitor?

PV is not a golden path, it's a complicated subject with elements of building design, construction and electrics. Ask anyone and to get going costs a practical MINIMUM of ÂŁ20k with all the time spent (others will honestly tell you it will cost a lot more) that would be some expensive photo's :)

hey, Worcester think that was a bit harsh! Just wanted to get an idea of what is involved within the PV process before going onto the course, eg a fly on the wall or even give someone a hand for free for a few days, as well as helping them with promotion.
I don't intend to open up my own business but find it an interesting area and hopefully someone may take me on.
I also don't expect to line my pockets with gold and to be honest, i don't need to. I just find it may be a more fulfilling rewarding job. As regarding building design, i know more than most !! I completely rebuilt my grade 2 listed house and then i designed, planned and built a large extension.
Seems Worcester you may be worried about a bit of competition :)

@Gazap,

Sorry didn't mean to be harsh! Competitions keeps one keen :)

The MCS route has been oversold by a few of the certification bodies - my top sparks get 's a call about once every 6 weeks or so from his certification body suggesting that he should get personally mcs registered, having been on the inside he has seen the costs and admin involved so he's passes it up every time. Before anybody spends their hard earned cash and time going down the mcs route they should do a fully financed cash flow and business plan, that way they won't get any shocks.

I regularly take on additional sparks when our normal teams can't cope with it all, so we do take on additional PV trained and MCS registered people to help out. PM me with your contact details!
