Hi
Been asked by a customer if I could carry out a PIR on an industrial unit he has. Have had very little experience in industrial testing. And since doing my 2391 a couple of years ago which only skims on three phase testing.

Was wondering if any of you knew of any test center's where they worked more on the practical side of testing.

Hi lenny
Spent one night on the test rigs been shown the tests before doing the tests for the 2391
Exam.this was 3 hours on an evening class I don't think 3 hours testing enough for
Enbody to grasp testing properly unless you are doing job wise day in day out what
Do you think?

I agree that frequent on the job experience of insp & test is key to "keeping your eye in", otherwise things will get forgotten.

Sounds like you definately didn't have enough practice time on your course. I'm sure when I did it it was roughly a 60-40 split between theory and practical.

Yea I've heard the 2391 testing course can be a little tricky. People I've spoken too have said that the pratical is far easier than the written exam. If your not testing day in and day out your never going to be able to remember everything. They don't really offer much on the pracitcal side do they?
