Only just realised how much Fluorescent tubes have increased in price. Not long ago 4ft tubes cost me around 79p each, they're well over ÂŁ2 now. Does anyone know how much more these prices are likely to increase in the next year or so??, I read that it was all down to a shortage/price increase in rare earth minerals that was driving the price up.

The triphosphor tubesare slightly more expensive than the standard tubes but they're lower consumption and slightly higher output. Prices haven't increased here yet. I paid the equivalent of 77pence per four foot triphospher (osram) tube last week but we did purchaase five boxes so volume might make a difference.

when i order stuff i see the over the counter price my record was a 28w 2d 4 pin lamp from eddies ÂŁ10.14 they blame the triphosphate shortage and China buying it all
