Pricing new build

Pricing to wire a new build 3 bedroom bungalow

2 of the bedrooms are on suite
30 double sockets
20 light fittings
3 phone points
3 tv points
and all the usual smoke det., cooker, etc.
no electric showers

what do you think a reasonable price would be?

some say £50 a point which would be say 60 points x £50= £3000, ive never priced a job so wait for more views

Depends if there is chasing involved, or if the internal walls are stud work etc

Price your materials, make sure you cost enough cable (especially with the price of it these days)
What make accessories do you use, that will make a difference to your materials cost. I always ask the customer, cheap and cheerful or quality. Or say i'll give you a list and you can use your 10% off at B&Q if that make you feel like your saving money.

I always add between 5% and 20% onto materials just to cover your backside if you miss something.

Also depends if you can work constantly or if the builder will want you one day one week, one day the next, and then 7 days then next week. I try to factor in a couple of backwards and forwards trips or days where your held up and can't get on.

I would guess a 3 bed bungalow will have a big floor plan so I probably be quoting 3500 to 4000.

But as always depends or your location, cheaper up north more expensive down south generally.

I'm pretty sure that new builds are VAT free though that may have changed recently; worth bearing in mind
