Is there a Private forum where 'vetted' solar companies/solar electricians can talk without it being on a Public forum?

We really need to kinda band together in the next few months and somethings need to be kept private

Sorry but I take real offence in your query ................... as it makes a complete mockery of the whole forum if certain members are hiding behind closed doors especially when the title of the forum is what it is !

This is a public forum- since I made my post there is in fact a private forum.

I don't really see how there is any offence to take?

Are you a solar company? Electrician?

There is also the sun lounge which is a sub forum of the main PV forum which is "private"

The "Electrcians Arms" exists for sparkies to have a chat about pricing, customers etc etc out of public view and to have a rant about anything.

If you are an electrician pr a PV installer, post up your details (as proof) and you can also have a key.

Simples.

This is a open public forum to the world but alot of the regular members do sometimes need to openly discuss things in a format not ideal for public reading, like business rates, callout charges etc etc if not just to scrutinise a product on the market without fear of legal comeback.... its an essential part of the forum and is open by request to anyone who runs a business, The Electricians Arms is a very good idea and partly keeps the site ticking as discussions can be had lets say with a more relaxed attitude and can help to improve our post replies in general and make the site more attractive.
I cant see where your offence is seated but most forums out there regardless of their topic do have private areas which your probably unaware of as alot dont reveal them until you get an invite to join, usually you've been discussed and vetted by existing members and they consider your a valued user and contributor. Note this isnt how this site operates its Electricians Arms its not a big secret and entry is by request to the chiefs at the top if you meet the requirements set out to join.

To be fair, any electrician is free to get entry to the private forums.

There are some things that the rest of us want to keep off public forums. We can discuss prices, equipment etc. without the eyes of the public on us. There is obviously nothing unusual about that.

I'm very puzzled that you find that offensive.

This forum serves it purpose as an 'Open' inclusive area to discuss PV however yes I sometimes do feel some threads should be closed to none trade but its up to the professionals on here not to discuss topics like that on here !
