Why doesnt T&E cable have Reference Method E (perforated cable tray) listed in table 4D5 (page 340 green)?

Although table 4D2A does and says it's multicore cable with or without a CPC? What's the difference between this cable and T&E?

Thanks in advance.

It's probably missing simply because it's not a common combination - cable tray is predominantly used with singles in industry, whereas T&E tends to be more domestic.

What I mean is that you can only put so much ink on so many pages - I'm not going to check but I'm guessing that you probably won't find a listing for 400mm SWA using method 102, either.

Because 102 is only for twin and earth?

Is the multicore 70c thermoplastic sheathed with or without CPC similar to switchwire used on 2 way switches but without the CPC? Or is it round profile?

Thanks.

It's one and the same. L,N,CPC or L,L,L,CPC are all counted as 'multicore' as there is more than one conductor.

Can you clip t+e and just plaster straight over?NO!

You can if it's at depth and all the other usual conditions have been met, yes. You can set it in concrete if you wish, as well, and that's also method C.

Rough, yes it is, but allowed. All plastic capping does in reality is just protect the cable from the plasterers trowel.

Pull a new cable through capping? I'd like to see that, only ever really came across capping in London, o'er here the main choice is 20mm round conduit.

Fair enough it's allowed inside safe zones but bloody hell who actually does that?Rough!20mm conduit is my preference as well!Prob spend more time clipping the cables down the chase than you would sticking a bit of conduit in.At least then you can pull in cables later
