Hello!
I've put up a mains outside light,
Been working fine for about 2 weeks,
Now it's not working!
When I turn it on and off at the mains, the bulb flashes once like a camera, and doesn't light up.
I've checked all wiring connections in the light and the plug,
Everything is connected.
Left it unplugged for 10 minutes, to reset the light, that doesn't work,
I've replaced the bulb, even turned it round, and made sure the bulb is fitted properly.
I have no idea why it's stopped working?
Any advice please?
Thank you!

From what I understand, this is just a light, no sensor and a replaceable bulb. Powered from a cable with a plug on it, plugged into a standard 13A socket.

If all connections are tight, and bulb works in another fitting (try that, to rule out the bulb) then the problem could be the socket. Try it in a known working socket, using an extension lead if you have to.
You have to eliminate any possibilities to narrow down where the fault could be.

Why would the OP leave it unplugged for 10 minutes to 'reset' a bulb?

it's A SKY BULB.
I was always told “you put bulbs in the garden!”

Can be understood as a part of abnormal aging or short circuit, after the overheating of the circuit of a self-protection on the open, so black out, black out, because there is no current, the temperature is back to normal, and bright.

I'm a professional electrician. I've seen this a lot. Can consider from the following aspects: 1. If both ends of the tube black, the general is broken, it is suggested that the yellow pavilion lamp. 2. If both ends of the tube are on and the starter keeps on for a long time, replace the starter. 3. If the temperature is low, it will be more difficult to start the fluorescent lamp。
