Hi to you all, I'm a new user to this site so please be gentle.Am a qualified electrician, struggling to pass my 2391 ( only a few days to my results ), and am trying to get in some serious testing practice.I believe I am performing the R1 + R2 test as per gn3, and am using my megger mft 1553, which is calibrated, however, my readings are quite frankly rubbish, my guv gave me his old outdated tester to try and watched me perform the test on the same circuit with both meters.0.08 vs 1.96' this was on a short radial using 2.5mm t&e.Why would this be so ridiculously different. Guv told me that in his expectations his old meter with the low reading looked pretty good. What's the course to take with this guys???

Have you zeroed your leads??
Put your tester on the ohms scale, put your leads together and you should get 0.00.
If your not dont panic. Put your leads together again and press the test button once or twice. This should bring a reading of 0.00 onto your tester. Now your ready to test. You may have to do this every time you test.
If your still not getting 0.00 try it several times and you have to press then test prongs together firmly.
Sometimes the 4mm connection on the lead that fits into the tester gets old and causes bad readings and new leads are needed but I would guess you simply need to zero the leads first.
I have been using the mft 1502/1553 for several years now and they are excellant testers.Good luck with the 2391

You really should have a check box to refer known values to results gained & we all check it before carrying out any testing Don't they require this any more on 2391
