Problems uploading from tester since windows7

I have a Metrel AlphaPat MI 2142 with a Belkin F5U103 USB serial adapter. Always worked fine on my old computer but now have new one with Windows 7, 64 bit (God know's what that means). anyway nothing "talks" to each other any more!

Any ideas?

On the Pat Link 2.1 software a box comes up and says "Com Port not available!" Tried it on com's 1,2,3&4 always comes up the same.

This sounds quite complicated until you realise that if you PM the manufacturer of the tester you may find that they have a fact sheet for this.

Also Top Cat did not know you were a serial PAT tester deary dear and theres me with my ink and quil
