Yes, this is probably a silly question... again.

I want to stop receiving emails every time I get an Alert.
I have gone into my Profile settings but I can't seem to find the tick box.
The settings for my Alert Preferences look ok. I still want to receive them... Just want the emails to stop.

Any help would be grateful...

Once you have changed the settings, it applies to new threads

This means you will get alerts from old threads but not new ones

I cant find the setting to stop them mate.
I've looked but I must be missing it.

Everything is ticked in the Alert Preferences.
I cant see anything about stopping emails.
I still want my Alerts to show, just not the emails...

If you have gone to alert preferences, then on the left hand side menu bar there is 'watched threads', go to that, choose 'show all watched threads' and then on the top right of the list there is a drop down 'manage watched threads,, on the drop down list there is an option disable email notifications.
That may be what you are looking for.

I presume that this only works for the threads that were shown in the list and that I will still get emails for any new threads.
There should be a setting like the above for all threads.

OK, then instead of alert preferences go to 'preferences' and in that list under options there is a twin tick box that says
Automatically watch threads that you create or when you reply...
and receive email notifications of replies
if you untick the 'receive email notifications of replies' that should clear the emails.
