Promoting my company

Hi all,
I have been thinking of joining ones of the checkatrade.com web sites, maybe even a couple of different ones to help get some extra work in.
I advertise in my local papers but dont seem to be getting a good enough return on my money.
Dont mind spending money if I'm going to earn it back.

Does anyone here advertise this way or is it just another waste of money?

My opinion, a total waste of money.

search out all the free listing sites and get on them free.

Gumtree,
netmums,
yell.com
thomson local,
to name but a few.
