Hi, seeing that i am not the only one using auto wire strippers (some of the older boys that sub to me still tell me off for using these). i have been experiencing issues with twin and earth stripping on 1mm and 1.5mm cables in that the blue or brown comes off, its a bit of an arse as i then have to get the side cutters out and do it the old skool way. anyone else having these issues.

I had this with some SWA recently , had to literally shave the core insulation off. Had it awhile ago with T+E but it was'nt prysmian.

Been using a stanley knife for sheath and these bad boys for inner cores for over 20 years. Never had any problems...

I also use strippers like those pictured by Guitarist above, especially for panels where there's hundreds of wires to be stripped. I have a metric pair and an imperial pair for SWG wiring.

I use these as I'm mainly working on singles/tri-rated in panels

Although I'm going to look for alternatives as the last set I bought started damaging the insulation where it grips.

I just don't get on with auto-strippers. Have tried several, but I like to control how deeply I bite into the insulation, as every stranded cable is different.
