Hi guys, hoping someone can help.
I'm thinking about trying to get trackside as i've seen a few jobs about. Problem is they all need PTS ticket. I've made some calls and found out about the courses and medical needed and have been told you can go on these but need sponsorship? Does anyone know what this means and what the works like?

Hi there i have worked on the railway pulling cables and laying trough routes which was ok very hands on and have also done a bit of sparkys mates on here which wasnt hard at all didnt really do alot to be honest. Working on the rails is one of the best jobs you can do i loved my time on there. There are so many ways to progress on there as well for example you can become a COSS, ES and many others. Lots of money to be earnt as well.

The sponsor is just a company that is registered with network rail and able to put you through for a PTS course.

Any more questions feel free to PM me
