Pull switch trips Rcd

Evening gents just wondered if any of you have come across such a thing when switch is pulled straight down its fine but when pulled at an angle trips power just wondered what your thoughts are

Doesn't do it all the time and only does it sometimes when pulling cord at an angle

Did the new pull cord do it too?

Yes was called out so replaced pull cord was ok for a good few months and now doing same thing

What is the light fitting , could well be a faulty ballast or something , is it a 2D type or what ??

check any loads it is switching, highly unlikely going to be 2 pull cords causing the same problem

Can't remember from last time going tomorrow so will let you know but surely if it was faulty it would do it all the time and when I changed switch was fine for a few month

It could be back EMf when switching off the collapse of the circuit has caused an arc inside the pullswitch and gradually pitted the contacts in the pullswitch , now its hapening on the new one after a time , what I would do in your shoes is to try a temporary pendant or something and see what happens , looks like faulty fitting

I have just found something for you as well a 10AX pullswitch is what you need Click do one , you probably have a normal 6Amp one at the moment..
