Hi all, im just looking for a bit of advice, ive had a customer ring up about his pulsacoil 200 system, hes letting his flat out and would like me to check the system as he thinks his leccy bills are huge,

Now as i understand it is an on peak/off peak setup? Could it be that they are wired the wrong way round, i have not been to job yet, and im looking for sone of your thoughts before i go down to see it. Has anyone come across something similar,

thanks.

Worked and repaired loads of plus coil 2000 systems. huge bills???? Gotta watch what he thinks are huge this system in the main is no different to a pressurised cylinder heated electrically. So it depends on his hot water usage, lets be honest electric isn't as cheap as gas!

sadly we work on a lot of pulsa coils, they do rely on two power sources, usually they are upper for the peak and lower for the off peak, if you remove the cover you can trace the cabling, during the day you would hope to find the bottom element on and not energised i.e. no power at the fused spur
the upper fused spur that feeds the upper element should be live at the spur but in the off position
and finally a third fused spur that controls the controls within the pulsacoil.
hope that makes sense.

Thanks guys, found the destructions on google, all wired correctly, first time ive seen one of them pulsacoil 2000's not particularly a great fan of them,

Thanks for the help tho
