Hi,

Can anyone please help advise how to go about doing a QMS. I have my MCS on MONDAY and need help.

Many thanks for reading.

Easy MCS ( Napit / NCEIC, both like these systems) it's an 'off the shelf MCS, though you will have to know the procesdures and have edited / created your own documents (you've got a lot of work to do!)

The Award Winning and Market Leading MCS Accreditation Specialists Easy MCS Ltd

If you are starting today, assume that you won't get any sleep between now and Monday night!

Most MCS accreditors require you to have submitted your QMS in advance - who is doing your accreditation?

i got my from Easy MCS and even with the good instruction that came with it still took a good 7 days to do the extra work required.

You think its worth paying the price for Easy MCS??? How much did it cost if you don't mind me asking, and was the support there when you needed it???
Cheers in advance

There seem to be a lot of questions about where to get a QMS. If you sign up with Napit then as part of deal they will, if you ask for it, provide you with a simple QMS in word/excel format in which you fill in the blanks. It is then in a format the assessor recognises and so it is easy for him to assess! I am with them and found it straightforward. You will not find it on the public part of their website. I do not know whether the other organisations offer a similar service - I have no experience of them - but I found the Napit process easy. It would be particularly useful for smaller businesses that do not already have something that looks like an ISO 9000 QMS. Napit cannot offer advice on how to fill it in because that would be against the rules (you cannot assess what you advise on), but it was not difficult, just time consuming.

If you want to find out what they will offer give them a call.

Regards
Bruce

Off the top of my head I think it was something like £499.00 plus VAT without dragging out the receipt so on the face of it quite dear. I had a tight time frame to get it sorted in and figured that if my QMS wasn't upto scratch then a whole day NIC revisit might have been required. I thought I may as well get guidance first time round and get it right - passed with not even minor non-confirmities. Also I thought the cost of skills-shortage advice days or QMS training day were coming in at £300 to £400 plus VAT so not so very different on price. You just follow the training guidance sheets to the letter and you should pass. Like I think I said before I had to use a REAL customer contract rather than the EasyMCS one which they asked me to email to them for a copy which struck me as a bit cheeky and Risk Asseessment is for Solar Thermal not PV - mine was for PV. But the support was always there via phone or email - I used phone cos I'm impatient. But as I said before you have to create a handover pack and contract pack and if you want to pass with no non-conforms then you gotta do them properly which took me a good long seven days. Some other folk have quoted several weeks to create a QMS and I just didn't have several weeks to fart around at it as still had to do my usual job in the meantime. You still have to have some product that will do you SAP cals for you. I used Complete Picture UValue software that comes with their very inaccessible QMS. I hope that helps.

Brilliant thanks, just one more q, Do you have to be part of real assurace to get the mcs accreditation as well??

cheers.
