pv systems, any call for them?

Ive heard a lot and seen a lot about roof mounted pv systems, all seems the rage to be talking about them. But has all of this talk converted into orders and money in the bank? What I mean is, what is your opinion of it? have you had any orders? Is it really one of those things that is taking off, or is it just going to be there but without anybody buying?. I cant say that ive seen any on any houses in the midlands.

There are companies that are 'renting' the roof from home owners to install PV systems and then sell the electricity back to the national grid.

About 36p/kWh for small photovoltaic systems (upto 4kW) and 28p/kwh for systems upto 10 kW.

So a typical home solar photovoltaic system of 3kW, generating approximately 2,300 kWh per annum will therefore earn about £1000 per annum.

If you google 'feed-in tariffs and segen' I expect you will get more up to date and accurate info about the subject.

Who wants to be up on a roof all day in the howling wind anyway?


I don't think there is alot of gold in it.
