I have just passed my 'level 2 certificate in electrotechnical technology - installation' with City and Guilds and am now doing level 3 this year. However i am wondering is the level 2 equivalent to an NVQ Level 2 or will it be equivalent to an NVQ Level 2 when i finish level 3 this year?

The 2330 that youve done is the technical certificate. The NVQ is work based qualification and you need to submit portfolio of evidence showing practical competence rather that theoretic competence if that makes any sense.
