Hi, was sitting in the van today on hold on the phone, had a look at my grade card and just wondered how much weight the sjib recognised 17th edition inspection and testing qualification had in comparison to other ones. Any thoughts?

In comparison with 2394/5

Well the 2390 & 2391 have been replaced (in 2013 I think) by 2394 & 2395. To my knowledge no other UK qualification exists for testing and inspection (other than for HV networks and such which I have no idea about anyway) there is 2377 pat testing but let's not mention that joke of a qual.

In addition to your op I don't think there is much difference between holding 2391&2394/5, only that 2391 holders are (most likely) more experienced. But that makes no difference to jib or sjib
