question from 2382 test

Hi everyone. currently preparing for 17th edition test. here is one of the test questions that confused me, cause the 'right' answer says 40 but i cant get that number.

cheers for reply, but why 16 and 4, ring circuit has got L, N, E same as lighting circuit. so it should be 12+8+12+6. or am I missing some thing?

ring has 2L, 2N thats 4, so 4 rings 16...... 2 lighting has 2L and 2N =4

I get 32 because surely a ring final has 2 live conductors, one line and one neutral?? Just because the conductor runs from the mcb to the mcb it doesn't suddenly become 2 - or does it?

Well you end up with 2 L ad 2 N at the board. As the lad said the correct answer is 40 so thats what they must have been looking for.
