Question regarding PFC, Ze, and live polarity tests. Please help.

When carrying out the tests: live polarity of the supply, Ze, and PFC on a TN-s single phase system, what happens to the double pole main switch? is it off or on?

Personally I have the main switch open/off.

When I test for Ze I reconnect the earth and then test PSCC/PEFC to get the PSCC and the test polarity on the load side to make sure all is ok, and as I'm a sad git I then activate the board and test polarity on the load side of the switch

I am still unsure!! So the main switch off and the test is carried out at the incoming (supply) side and not the feed? OR at the feed (outgoing) side?

On the incoming side with the switch in the open(off) position as the earthing conductor is removed

What about the polarity of the supply test on the incoming side of the main switch and the main switch off?

Never test Ze with main switch closed / on as the instalation is not correctly earthed.

With the main switch off, use the live terminal on the incoming side of the main switch and the (disconnected) main incoming earth to do your Ze. If you get a reading then you have also confirmed polarity of supply, because if polarity is wrong your tester will not do the test due to there being insufficient voltage between the 'Line' and Earth.
