Started a level 1, completed practical assessment, was given test paper and tutor told me to answer these questions, bearing in mind I haven't had any theory practice or anything given to me on this information before hand.

1. Give TWO health and safety regulations related to assembling a 13amp switched socket wired in a ring main final circuit.

The question here is asking about health and safety regulations.
Therefore think of regulations that you know of that would be related to you WORKIING on an ELECTRICTY related item. (just to give you a hint)
This is what I think the question is asking: what are two common sets of regulations referring to health and safety that are applicable to working with an electrical item?

I would of thought on a ring main 32amp Mcb with (rcd protection) being one?
The plug tops are capable of accepting different size fuses, shutters in operation when the plug top is removed. Earth connected first when inserting the plug top, and dissconnect last when the plug top is removed, I realise my answers concern the plug tops, but they are after all a part than is used with the 13A switch socket. Not sure if they are what your tutor is looking for, but important never the less, good luck Mate

No mate, I'd be more inclined (based on the way the question is phrased) to name the title of the regulations. Richard has given you the clue, but to rephrase, try and think of some sort of regulations you might need to adhere to while working with electricity.

That should get you the first, and from that I'll leave you to find a second.

Sorry if I'm being thick.

  • Training to an appropriate level in the area of work
  • Experience of achieving a suitable standard in similar work.
  • Regular re-assessment.
Basically competetant? I'm 80% sure in my head that's right?

Not started my course yet but I would look at The Electricity at Work Regs 1989 which I believe falls under the Health & Safety Act. There's at least 33 Regs that I can see most of which seem to cover aspects of what you have already mentioned like competency, ppe, insulation, earthing, protective devices etc.

That's what we were trying to say without actually saying it lol
