Hi All,

Im after a little bit of advice for the company i work for we design, build and wire control panel for companies thought-out the world these panels control external peripherals such as slurry tanks and high voltage fans ect, my question is that one of our German customers have decided they want a test certificate EN60204 and we have never come across this before we have phoned various panel wiring companies and they have never come across a requirement for this either.
We have qualified electricians some with 2391 and some with 2392 qualifications along with their usual electrical experience and qualifications, another question would be is this a requirement for control panels? as a majority of equipment will have to be unwired such as inverters, PCA control boards, fans, led and neon lamps ect if anyone can enlighten us on and solutions or point us in the right direction to what tests are required or a regulations anything at all then we would appreciate it a great deal.

Thank you
Anthony.

as far as im aware, control panels are not tested as per BS7671. ive tested small control panels for pumps. all i did was point to point continuity, IR, and functional tests.
When testing installations with control panels, i test back to the MCB in the panel, which usually means it supplies circuits through relays ect. this enables me to identify loose connections in the panel ect, of which there are usually several.

Thats all i can tell you from my own experience mate.

John
