Greetings.

I have a turbo diesel car that has glow plugs that heat the cylinder head and fuel at cold start up. The plugs draw about 10 amps each for a short period of time. As the current is DC non of my AC clamp meters will be able to measure it.

Does anyone have any suggestions of a cheap way to measure the current drawn at each plug?

The car works ok I am just curious to know.

Thanks.

clamp the busbar between each plug. you will read 1 plug between 3 and 4, 2 plugs between 2 and 3, etc. ech plug is about 120ohms, cold res. so around 10A each initially.
