Hello all

Can I put a bathroom heater on a fused spur running from a ring circuit. Is there anything in the regs to say I cant do this? the heater is 1.2 KW.

Thanks

No a water heater/immersion heater must not be supplied via a ring final circuit. page 362 BRB 433.1.5 :D

Soz just re-read your post and it say bathroom heater

Its not a water heater/ Immersion heater its just a normal heater.

I don't see a problem with it as long as it is outside of the zones!

I would also be inclined to use a 5A fuse, 1200/230 = 5.2A, I know this is slightly over and In >= Ib but this is assuming the voltage is 230V which is not really the case as the UK still actually uses 240V, so 1200/240 = 5A, be interested to see other views

You only need to switch the lines and the contactor is rated per pole so for example a 16A four pole contactor would be fine.
