separates v multi function

replace one item of whole unit if accidentally broken???

which way is the most cost effective and user friendly??

would be without my multi function 1 calibration cost , you can do a Zs then straight onto RCD tests without changing you meter , less to carry , yes if it goes wrong but easier in the long run

Yep I'm going MFT too, sure I had a little while without working while I got mine mended, but to be honest you could get 2 MFTs for the same price as 2 items of seperates.... so you're still saving money and covering all bases. I'm sure it's nice to have all dedicated seperates, but realistically I don't see the point.

i guess it`s personal choice really as there are pro`s and con`s to both. i like the mf`s probably after the bad experiences at college with the rubbish they had us using there

Ordered a 1552

Cheers guys.

Was advised buy a few separates are cheaper once bought. But it come down to initial out lay.

I do like the all in one slant mind you regards to swapping and changing back and forth to kit etc.

i guess also its easier to keep track of one unit than 3 although may cost more to repair its down to how you look after the kit.

This is the reason I joined these forums, free useful information. Thanks, with the tool list required for a this would save me some cash. Many thanks

I prefer a multi too.:)

We'll just wait for old father time now to pick up on this thread with his seperates!!!! you know who you are!!!!!!:D:D:eek::D:D

I have been using the 1552 for two years now and it is by far the best tool for the job. MFT every time. By the way just got it calibrated at CEF on a calibration day, £76 inc vat.
