Hi All

Is there such thing as a quite pull cord switch?? My standard MK switch wakes up the baby and really annoys the hell out of me as its just so loud.

Don't want to go down the PIR route and don't want a dimmable switch.

Any Ideas??

ok, so use pull switch for normal use. get a battery LED stick on light by the bog for middle of night piddles

I emailed MK about the noise my current switch makes and they said that the UK market prefer to hear a sound when the circuit is energised.
I would have thought the light turning on would have been enough of an indication that the circuit is energised.

I'm going to buy a Marbo cheap one tomorrow from screwfix to see if its better.

stop putting the baby to sleep in the bath - get it a proper cot in its own room!

seriously though you must be able to get some quiet ones as ours hardly makes a noise - think it was just a cheapo from wilkinsons.

I think your right, the more expensive one's do seem to have a more positive switching action which in-turn causes the snapping sound.
We have a completely tiled bathroom (floor and ceiling) so the snapping sound is also echoed.

I'm going to search for a quite one tomorrow at all the sheds.

Order one of each make they have, try them all as you can pull them within the packaging, then return the rest.
Or if its quiet ask to see each type before buying one.

I've started offering an occupancy sensor to all customers having bathroom work done-no pull cords or relocated plate switches.

The customer feedback is excellent for such a simple system and it's silent :)
