HELLO
on way to job tomorrow to ramp test a 30ma r.c.d,would i be right in saying any reading below 15 ma is unsatisfactory and over 15ma is satisfactory.many thanks :rolleyes:

thanks for your replies , do i ramp test with all loads /m,c,b,s in the off postion twice ,then with m,c,b,s on to see if any earth lekage is present .

Idealy 25 - 29mA would be the optimum figure, although any figure above 15mA and below 30mA the RCD will be within limits.

That would indicate that it would trip at x 1/2, which is unacceptable. Anywhere < 23-24mA would suggest replacement for me.

As long as it doesn't operate at half the rated residual operating current and does operate within (assuming BS EN 61008/61009 device) 300mS at rated residual operating current then it meets the requirements. Plenty of devices operate below 25mA - nothing faulty about them though.
