How do you record the R1 + R2 for a circuit with seperate feeds?
For example in my propert the downstairs lights have 3 live wires coming out of a 6a MCB.

cable 1 does the bathroom and playroom lights
cable 2 does the hall light
cable 3 does the remaining downstairs rooms

Do i record the highest value from all 3??

Also have a Ze of 144 ohms but when take a Zs measurement from for exmple downstairs socckets i get a reading of 101 ohms. (i assume this due to paralell paths) I assume this is acceptable.

Any advise would be appreciated:confused:

Each of your lighting circuits should have seperate MCB's check out the reg on parallel circuits.
You in effect have 3 circuits on 1 breaker.

Thanks, Yes it is a TT. And the Ze was 380 ohms before i sank the new rod. (No idea where the original was).

I was beginning to wonder if anyone was going to reply ;)

Just to expand on the post, when testing the lighting circuit with three feeds, do you join all lines and earths together when testing r1 and r2, or break them down to specific points per feed? this would take a lot longer to test? so worth the extra time?
when IR would you again break down or test together?
You are testing together when live testing so why break them up on the dead tests?
Would it affect the r1,r2 readings?
i can understand if you are going to get the remedial work and board change. You can split the circuit up correctly, but what if it is to stay the same?
What does it say in the regs re dead tests?
I am still learning myself, L3 2330 and it is a question I have thought of my self so very interested in your replies.
