Im sure this has been covered before, but Im after peoples views, I am 100 percent confused by the reg that states zs may be calculated using ze plus r1 r2, but r1 r2 cannot be calculated using zs minus ze, naturally I test my r1 r2 and zs. But once I've tested my zs on a periodic for example I have already proved there is an earth or continuity of it at the end of line, so why the big dramas over not being allowed to do it?

this is because R1+R2 should be a dead test, done before the circuit is energised. and what the hell r1 and r2 have to do with it i don't know as they are end/end resistances of a RFC.

Zs = Ze +(R1+R2) because you're measuring all those things in isolation.
Zs is measured including parallel paths

No, sometimes I forget to press it either because I'm a dumbass or because I've been on the lash all day :)
