hi just checking how you test r1 r2 on ring circuits and radials something ive never had to do before? thanks alot in advance

They're different types of tests on RFCs and Radials Jimmy....do you have a copy of the NICEIC testing book?

Inspection, Testing and Certification Including Periodic Reporting: 5th Edition Incorporating the Requirements of BS 7671: 2001: Amazon.co.uk: National Inspection Council for Electric: Books

The RFC tests are quite long-winded....
- Isolate installation
- Null leads
Step 1
- Disconnect all conductors on RFC
- Measure r1 (Line), r2 (CPC) and rn (Neutral)
Step 2
- Cross connect L/N
- Measure both
Step 3
- With conductors still cross-connected, measure between L & N at each point on the RFC.
Step 4
- Repeat Steps 2 & 3 but with L & CPC cross-connected
- Record highest value as R1+R2
Step 5
- Reconnect all conductors

Step 1: r1 and rn measurements should be similar. R2 measurement should be 1.67 times higher than r1/rn.
Step 2: Value should be approx half of N or L in Step 1
Step 3: Values should be similar to Step 2.
Step 4: Highest R1+R2 should equal (r1 + r2)/4
